I recently saw a story about the trend of #skinnytok taking on a very loud voice and contributing to young people's idea of their body. As I was listening, these people who are everyday people, are sharing about the ways that they're living to have a skinny body.
I began to reflect on how h've been "skinny" my whole life. It is not something that I deliberately chose yet at the same time I do intentionally choose it.
Eating vegetables and fruit, enjoying drinking water, physical activity, these are things that are natural for me. And I'm also aware that choosing to do these things intentionally supports maintaining a physical vessel that looks how mines does which many people would consider skinny.
As I was getting ready this morning, I recognized that another foundational part of having the physical shape that I have comes from affirming myself. Loving my body Temple.
The human body is 70 to 80% water consistently throughout the life cycle. There have been studies that show the impacts of words on water. That being said, if we are 70% to 80% water: what are we saying, what words are we using, that are impacting the water that is our physical form?
Just something to consider as you navigate your life after reading this and seeing this video. Definitely share your thoughts in the comments! I want to hear from you on this topic.
What ideas have you had about your body?
